A Better Life - Pet Rescue, Inc. is a fully volunteer run organization. We rely on our community of dedicated, passionate individuals to donate their time to make our mission a success.

You will be a part of a dedicated team that is committed to fulfilling the mission and vision of A Better Life - Pet Rescue, Inc. You will get to be part of saving lives and making a difference in your community.

To help provide A Better Life to pets in our rescue, you must:

  • Be 18+ years old

  • Be able to communicate via email and have access to text messaging

  • Be available to able to volunteer for at least 3 months

  • Be an animal lover and HAVE FUN!

Available Volunteer Oppurtunities:

Below responsibilities for each role are included but not limited to responsibilities mentioned below

 

Social Media Coordinator

We are looking for animal lovers to contribute to A Better Life - Pet Rescue, Inc. social media presence. This important role helps pets in our rescue find their forever homes and gives us more recognition so we can continue saving more lives!

Social Media Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Management of all social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, LinkedIn and A Better Life - Pet Rescue, Inc. website

    • Creating and posting content to the above-mentioned channels

    • Responding to comments and messages on all platforms

    • Developing ways to increase followers on all channels

    • Creating engaging, informative and FUN content to promote A Better Life - Pet Rescue, Inc. and the animals we care for (Including special programs for seniors, long termers and special needs pets)

  • Cross team collaboration

    • Work with the Foster Coordinator and volunteers to gather information and photos/video for current animals to create content for posts

    • Collaborate with the President, Vice President and Board of Directors of the rescue 

  • Onsite Activities **Please note the below items are not required and if agreed upon will follow social distancing and healthcare guidelines

    • Meeting with fosters at dog parks, homes to capture photos/videos of animals

    • Attend A Better Life - Pet Rescue, Inc. scheduled events to get photos/content for posts

  • Additional Skills (not required)

    • Graphic design, photography, videography, editing experience

  • Average Time Commitment: 3 days a week, 1-2 hours a day

 

Pet Chauffeur

We are looking for animal lovers to transport pets that are in A Better Life - Pet Rescue, Inc. This important role helps pets in our rescue find their forever homes, go to vet visits, and training classes so we can continue saving more lives!

Pet Chauffeur responsibilities include:

  • Transportation of pets include (but not limited to):

    • Transport to and from foster homes

    • Taking pets to their vet appointments

    • Taking pets to training/day care

  • Cross team collaboration

    • Work with the Foster Coordinator and Adoption Coordinator to organize pick-up/drop-off times to get to appointments on time

    • Collaborate with Foster Coordinator to check all paperwork, medical and medical needs are met prior to transport.

    • Collaborate with the President, Vice President and Board of Directors of the rescue 

  • Requirements of position

    • A reliable, personal vehicle for transportation

    • A valid driver’s license

  • Average Time Commitment: 1-2 days a week, 1-3 hours a day

*We will cover your cost of gas based on the mileage driven

 

Foster Coordinator

We are looking for animal lovers to support fosters that are in A Better Life - Pet Rescue, Inc. This important role helps pets in our rescue finds their forever homes, go to home visits, make sure foster needs are met, and find new fosters so we can continue saving more lives!

Foster Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Management of all fosters in the rescue

    • Staying in contact with fosters regularly to ensure fosters needs are being met

    • Responding to fosters via the rescue Facebook group and cell phone

    • Developing ways to add new fosters to the rescue

  • Cross team collaboration

    • Collaborate with the Social Media Coordinator to gather information and photos/video from fosters to create content for posts

    • Collaborate with the Pet Chauffeur to set up transportation for fosters

    • Collaborate with the Adoption Coordinator to set up pets for home visits, adoption and pet contracts

    • Collaborate with the President, Vice President and Board of Directors of the rescue 

  • Required experience with:

    • Spreadsheets, Google Drive and gmail

  • Average Time Commitment: 3-5 days a week, 1-3 hours a day

 

Adoption Coordinator

We are looking for animal lovers to support the pets that are brought in to A Better Life - Pet Rescue, Inc. This important role helps pets in our rescue find their forever homes, and ensure a pet is a good match for an adopter so we can continue saving more lives!

Adoption Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Management of all adoptable pets and intake of pets in the rescue

    • Creating profiles on PetFinder for adoptable pets

    • Responding to potential adopters via email and phone

    • Screening adoption applications, adopters, and their homes to ensure they are a good fit for the pet they are interested in

    • Connecting fosters with potential adopters via email and phone

    • Developing ways to increase adoption rates

  • Cross team collaboration

    • Work with the Social Media Coordinator to gather information and photos/video from fosters to create content for posts

    • Work with the Pet Chauffeur to set up transportation for fosters

    • Work with the Foster Coordinator to set up pets for home visits, adoption and pet contracts

    • Collaborate with the President, Vice President and Board of Directors of the rescue 

  • Required experience with:
